Two Antennas, Two Different Jobs — How I Help Customers Choose

I get asked this question a lot: "Which antenna should I choose?" Customers stand in our showroom, looking at the AM9800X and the AM8089, trying to decide.

Here's how I explain it.

The AM9800X is our long-range antenna. Soft labels detect up to 1.8-2.0 meters. Hard tags detect up to 2.0-3.0 meters. This is for supermarkets with wide checkout lanes — where a shopping cart passes through and the antenna needs to detect tags from both sides. It's acrylic, with blue LED lighting that flashes green on alarm. It's our premium model.

The AM8089 is also acrylic, but designed differently. Cables come out from the side instead of the bottom. Why does that matter? Because some stores don't want to cut into their floors. Side routing lets the antenna be installed against a wall or pillar, with cables running along the baseboard. No floor damage.

A German customer found us at EuroShop because of this feature. He had looked at four Chinese suppliers' antennas. EMENO was the only one with side routing. He took photos, emailed for samples, and placed his first order a few months later.

He told me: "I didn't have to modify my store's floor. That saved me money and time."

Sometimes it's not about how advanced the product is — it's about a design detail that solves a specific problem.
