Last month, an American customer sent an email asking a question: "Can you apply the EAS labels before shipment? We don't want to do it ourselves at the store."
The underlying issue is an ongoing industry transformation: the source label initiative.
What is the source label?
In simple terms, before the goods are manufactured, the supplier (such as a clothing factory or a cosmetics factory) directly attaches the EAS or RFID label. After the retailer receives the goods, the products are already in a "loss prevention-ready" state and no further manual labeling by store staff is required.
Both Checkpoint and Sensormatic are moving in this direction. Checkpoint has collaborated with Lagdale to deploy RFID ceiling-based anti-theft systems in airport stores. Sensormatic presented a category-level loss analysis based on EAS at the NRF exhibition.
The advantages of the source labels are obvious: the stores can save on labor costs, the labels can be applied more uniformly, and the goods can be placed on shelves more quickly. However, the prerequisite is that the labels themselves must be reliable, the application positions must be accurate, and the demagnetization process must be smooth.
What can Lifangmei Technology do?
Lifangmei Technology does not directly provide source label services, but we offer the labels themselves - AM soft labels, hard labels, and bottle tags, all of which are standard products.
After that American customer finished asking his questions, we sent him sample labels and asked him to test the adhesion strength and demagnetization success rate. The test results were quite good. They are currently evaluating whether to move the labeling process to the factory end of Lifangmei Technology in the next batch of purchases.
What does this indicate?
Retailers are trying to move the loss prevention process forward - from the stores to the warehouses, and from the warehouses to the suppliers. This is not a distant trend; it is a reality that is already happening.
The location of Lifangmei Technology is: to develop the basic product of labels well, so that customers who want to use source labels can have reliable labels at their disposal.
