EU compliance tightening challenges EAS exporters.

2026-08-06 - Leave me a message

Since 2026, the compliance requirements for imported electronic products in the EU market have continued to become increasingly strict. CE certification is the foundation, but more and more customers are beginning to inquire about more specific compliance documents - the compliance declarations for RoHS, REACH, and WEEE directives.

For EAS export enterprises, the compliance requirements are becoming more stringent.

The customer asked:

In the inquiries from European customers in the first half of the year, apart from price and parameters, the following issues have increasingly appeared:

"Does the product comply with RoHS 2.0?"

"Can you provide a REACH compliance statement?"

"Does the packaging material comply with the EU packaging directive?"

Previously, these issues mainly arose during the supplier audits of large chain brands. Now, some medium-sized distributors are also asking about them.

What did Lifangmei Technology do?

In the first half of the year, over 300 supermarket security devices produced by Lifangmei Technology were sent to Europe. These devices were clearly marked as "fully compliant with the EU CE certification standards".

The ISO 14001:2015 environmental management system certification is another compliance basis - there are records available for waste disposal during the production process, energy consumption, and control of hazardous substances.

However, CE and ISO 14001 are just the basics. The more detailed compliance requirements such as RoHS, REACH, and WEEE need to be confirmed item by item. Different customers have different purchasing requirements, and each case needs to be discussed individually.

What does this mean for the industry?

The compliance threshold has increased, which is beneficial for large suppliers but poses a challenge for small factories. Suppliers who can provide a complete set of compliance documents will have an easier time entering the European market; those who cannot will see their orders flow to those who can.

The response strategy of Lifangmei Technology is: Prepare the compliance documents in advance. Provide whatever the customer requests and avoid getting stuck at the compliance stage for the order.
