The NRF (National Retail Federation) released a report in August regarding organized retail crime (ORC).

From 2024 to 2025, retailers reported an average decrease of 12.4% in in-store theft incidents and an 8.1% decrease in merchandise theft incidents.

From the end of 2025 to April 2026, 24-year-old Terrence Boswell committed 27 thefts targeting multiple Walgreens pharmacies, mainly stealing cosmetics and batteries.
