The demand for retail loss prevention in Latin America is on the rise

When chatting with several Latin American customers recently, a common point was identified: they are all increasing their budget for EAS anti-theft systems.

According to the data from the Brazilian retail association, in the first half of 2026, the loss rate of goods by retailers in Brazil increased by approximately 8% compared to the same period last year. The situation in Mexico was similar, with organized retail crime (ORC) showing an upward trend in some states.

The shipment records of EMENO in Latin America confirm this trend. In the first half of this year, EMENO shipped 5 pallets of AM hard tags to Mexico, totaling 100,000 pieces. This shipment was sent to an old customer who had been cooperating for two years and used AM hard tags to protect clothing and accessories. The customer reported that the lockers of EMENO's AM hard tags had stable magnetic force, and the cashiers operated smoothly without any situation where the tags couldn't be removed.

In Brazil, EMENO's AM antennas and AM soft labels are entering more supermarket channels. A Brazilian distributor, after chatting with the EMENO team at the IOTE exhibition, decided to place a trial order for two cabinets of AM8208 and the corresponding AM soft tags. What he valued was the 4.7-kilogram weight of the AM8208 - the maritime freight in Latin America is high, and the lightweight design directly saves costs.

Another characteristic of the Latin American market is the significant difference in store sizes. Large chain supermarkets require AM9800X, which is a long-distance AM antenna, with wide channels and high foot traffic. Small convenience stores and pharmacies are more suitable for AM8089 or AM8208, with sufficient detection distance and more favorable prices.

The AM100 and AM100E motherboards of EMENO support remote debugging. This is particularly important for Latin American customers - technicians don't have to fly halfway around the world to adjust the antennas. A Mexican customer said, "Previously, it took two weeks for European suppliers' technicians to come over, and now EMENO remotely solved it in half an hour."

Latin America is not EMENO's largest market, but it is one of the fastest-growing markets. The demand for AM antennas, AM hard tags, and AM soft labels in Latin America is still on the rise.
